Associate Marketing Manager

About the Job

Sequoia is seeking a motivated Associate Marketing Manager to lead Sequoia’s B2B Marketing and Sales efforts. The waste hauling industry is fraught with corruption and inefficiency, and Sequoia is strategically poised to overhaul the industry to the benefit of Property Managers everywhere. Sequoia delivers highly valuable service to it’s partner customers, and Sequoia needs to expand marketing and sales efforts to reach and sell to more customers. Sequoia will challenge the candidates to be resourceful and think on their feet to achieve sales goals. The candidate will be trained, however the hire is also challenged to improve our own methods and process. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Define market segmentation
  • Build and curate customer segments and lead lists
  • Curate existing and develop additional marketing channels. Track and report on all marketing channels
  • Build and manage marketing budget with input and oversight from Marketing Director. Report on budget to CEO
  • Support Sales team with Marketing Materials, Case Studies, Trade Show Prep, Sales Presentations, etc
  • Manage CRM together with Sales Team
  • Support Brand Development and PR communications

The Ideal Candidate will:

  • Maintain regular hours in the Sequoia offices. It’s important to Sequoia that this candidate engages the wider team
  • Be an independent, free thinker that can work alone when necessary
  • Think analytically and justify points of view with rational, fact-based arguments
  • Be willing to push the limits of his/her comfort zone and embody an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Like working with sales teams and enjoy social events out of the office as a part of the job

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Skilled in Keynote and Pages, or Creative Suite a plus
  • 1 year minimum working with a CRM
  • Strong interpersonal and speaking skills, strong writing skills a plus
  • 1-2 years experience in a business to business role - strong preference for Sales experience and preference for Marketing experience

Educational / Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Marketing Automation, PR, SEO, Web Marketing experience a plus but not required
